Ick.

What I am loving today:

The simple pleasures of life
such as

The Incredible Adventure on the Ill-Green Sea.

 Isolated downpours have come through...
mixing with the sun's hot summery compounds.
They have tainted the pool's crystal waters
to an Irish shade of Mountain Dew green.

The murky waters are what this little boy...
finds perfect for catching and releasing his newest friend.

He wrestles the tangled mess of leaves,
smeary net, and...

it.

The twisted netting thwarts the valiant efforts
of both captor
and captive.

I sense the irritation on both parts.

I help him release the struggling creature
and my boy watches in consternation as...

trouble insists on imping at the side.

His catch reveals...
a careful friendship between boy
and
salamander:
a hot summer's day adventure
for
both.
