The View from my Bedroom Window and a 5-Year Old's Question.

"Mommy,
Are you old?"
Levi's inquiring mind wanted to know.

"Why are you asking me that, Levi?"
I turn to look at him.

"Because Violet said you are old,"
He responded while picking at his toes.

"Well, what does Violet know?"  I smiled.
"What do you think is 'old', Levi?"

 "Old is 100 years old...

 ...and it's all gray hair,"
his answer while still fooling with his toes.

"Am I 100 years old
and is my hair all gray?"
I pose in front of him,
mustering up my youngest expression possible.

"No, I guess you aren't,"
he answers while relinquishing his toenails
to peer at me with a sideways tilt of the head.

Happy Monday, everyone.
Embrace today...
and all of its finer moments.

(Note to self: dye hair this afternoon).

"This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it."
 Psalm 118:24
