Looking in.

When I look into your eyes...

I see sweet happiness,

hard work,

creativity,

a beautiful person who sees into situations

and can read between the lines of character

and truth;

and I feel the need to pray more

for you,

 and for me as I live with you

because in all these things,

I know I do not escape your eyes.

When I look into your eyes...

I see curiosity,

wonder,

tenderness,

quiet strength;

and I see the need to pray for you more,

that these qualities will better you and lead you to God;

 and I pray for myself,

because I know that when I'm not realizing it,

your eyes watch me.

When I look into your eyes...

I see a little girl struggling to keep up with the rest of us,

wanting to know what we know,

be as tall and capable as we are,

decisive,

opinionated,

strong in spirit;

and I know that I need to pray for you more,

that God will use your sweet little capabilities

to make the world a better place for all those who come into your life;

and I pray for myself because I know that I need it:

for patience when you don't have any,

for love to look beyond the messes...

 

to help you see God's love

and that the strength that He has is all you will ever need.

You little people in my life:

you make me weigh my days,

my challenges and choices,

my priorities,

my source of strength.

While we watch each other,

we share moments:...

these are the greatest of treasures.
