"I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God."
~Ecclesiastes 3:12-13
Fall.
~Ecclesiastes 3:12-13
Fall.
Our pond:
my walk.
Rounding the first bend
.
Looking across.
Birdhouse.
Notice the baler twine in the top left apartment.
Thieves.
But they're gone now for the winter.
Looking back at our house.
2 curious kids come to watch me
"exercise."
Willow tree.
Graceful.
Romantic.
Where's my man when I need him to be the man in "romantic"?
Ro-man-tic.
"Come on you two!
Catch up!"
Willow trees remind me of fairy tales.
Heading around the far end of the pond...
...down past the orchard trees.
"Yes, I'm doing ten laps;
are you two going to do any?"
The grape vines wear their fall garments.
Old Faithful looks on;
even he doesn't want to do laps with me.
Rounding the bend.
10 laps:
2 laps walking,
1 sprint,
2 laps walking,
1 jog,
2 laps walking,
1 ridiculous attempt to jog, but more of a bounce walk.
1 final lap to try to remember how to breathe again.
Water's low in the pond.
We need some more rain.
Road block.
Run block?
Good excuse to stop for a minute.
On the ground as usual;
thinks she's a dog.
Running out of time.
Where did Saturday go?
Oh, look!
Who's this?
"Quit taking pictures and come help me do some work."
"Yes, boss."
Spreading black gold for next year's raspberry crop.
I was doing this to help spare his back after a long day of shoveling in the barn,
but I was doing it wrong...
So I took pictures of how to do it right...
so I can look at them and learn...
for next time.
Right?
(You need to stop carrying all those keys around.
They're not helping your back,
or your manure-throwing technique.)
I'm done exercising now.
Let's go have some supper.
Too funny! I noticed the keys and was going to say the same exact thing!
